"Or do you not know that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Glorify God - Worship

Matthew 5:16Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. "

We are called to glorify God with our bodies and with our lives. He has purchased our lives and redeemed us from the law of sin and death. He has paid the price for our sins, and we belong to Him. Everything that we do in our lives should honor and glorify the Lord, and these things are an act of worship when we do them to glorify Him.

Revelation 5:12 - In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

God is worthy of our praise, for He has saved us and redeemed us. He has created all things and given us everything according to life and godliness. We are to enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise, for He is worthy! Thanksgiving and praise should pour forth from our mouths. These are the entrance points into His presence.

Psalm 96:1-9 - Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! 2 Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. 3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! 4 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. 6 Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. 7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! 8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! 9 Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!

We are told to sing to the Lord and bless His name. We are to worship Him in the splendor of holiness. God is worthy of extravagant, exuberant praise. When the Israelites brought the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem, David had the priest consecrate themselves and appointed singers to accompany its return. They were told to shout and sing loudly, to play harp and lyre and cymbals. We seek to worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness and present ourselves to Him and sing praises to Him and shout, dance, and wave banners as we release exuberant honor to Him with our mouths in and voices with singing. In this, we encounter Him in the beauty of His holiness, and He is lifted up to draw all men to Himself.

Psalm 29:1-2 - Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in holy array.

Psalm 86:12 - I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And will glorify Your name forever.
