Fighting for Joy

Jan 19, 2025    Pastor Rachel Bosket

In our journey of faith, we're called to fight for joy - not just any joy, but a deep, unshakeable joy rooted in Christ. This isn't about pursuing worldly happiness or prosperity but about finding our ultimate satisfaction in God Himself. The parable of the hidden treasure in Matthew 13:44 illustrates this beautifully. When we truly grasp the value of God's kingdom, we're filled with such joy that we're willing to give up everything else to possess it. This joy isn't dependent on our circumstances; it can coexist with sorrow and suffering, as the Apostle Paul demonstrated. By cultivating this Christ-centered joy, we're better equipped to love others, serve sacrificially, and glorify God in all situations. Let's challenge ourselves to look beyond temporary pleasures and seek the lasting joy found only in our relationship with God.
